There is Nothing Too Small For God
Most of the time when people talk about how great God is, they say “There is nothing too hard for God”. While this is very true, we forget to take the little things to him as well.
I remember when our puppy was first being potty trained. It seemed that she just couldn’t get it right. I would take her to the potty every hour or so. She wouldn’t go on the paper and as soon as we left the paper, she would go on the floor. It never failed. I felt like I wasn’t doing something right. I read blogs about house training, I read articles, I tried everything I could think of, but she just would not go on the paper.
Finally, I prayed and asked God to help with this situation. Now, I know you are probably thinking, “You asked God to help you house train your dog?”. Yes, I did…and do you know the very next day she went in the right place. She still had accidents. But I tell you, she started going on the paper more and she was fully house trained shortly there after. There is nothing too small for God.
In 2 Kings 6:1-7, there is an example of how God is concerned with the little thing of life. Elisha and the sons of the prophets were building a house. They went to the Jordan to cut trees and an ax that they were using fell into the water. The guy got upset because it was borrowed. God moved and caused the ax head to float to the top of the river so they could get it out. Something as simple as an ax head falling into water concerned God and he fixed the problem.
Jesus said in Mark 10:15,” Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” For you ladies with children, when your child falls they often run to you for comfort. They may not even get hurt during the fall, but they run to you anyway because they believe they will find comfort in you. You’re concerned even though they didn’t get hurt because you love your children. We should have child-like faith in God that He will fix everything that bothers us.
We are God’s children. He cares about our small issues as much as He cares about our big ones. We have to stop trying to do things in our own strength and give all of our problems to him.
God loves us so much. He wants to be there for us through ALL of life’s issues…even the little things like house training a dog
