Perfection
Are you a perfectionist? Do you judge and criticize yourself for every little mistake you make? If so, relax. Put all of your imperfections in God’s hands. God knows your good and He knows your bad. Guess what, He still loves you the same. It is easy to get hung up on the things we need to fix within ourselves. Many times, we look at ourselves with a magnifying glass. We try and try to fix our short coming, but screw things up even more. I know I have mentioned this many times in other posts but…we can’t fix ourselves. We have to let God fix us. He knows just what needs to be fixed so that we can get to our destiny.
Philippians 1:6 says “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”. This tells us that God is never done working on us. He won’t be done until we get to Heaven. Revelation 12:10 calls satan the accuser of the bretheren. So, being hung up on your imperfections is an attack from the enemy. He is constantly accusing you of the things that need work. If he can get you to focus on the problem, then you can’t focus on the solution…God.
Philippians 1:6 not only tells us that God will be working in us until we get to Heaven, it also tells us than God finishes what He starts. So, when we give our short comings to Him, we can rest assured that He will complete the task at hand. We can’t allow Him to work on us and then try to step in an finish the job either. We have to take the back seat and allow Him to drive. Sometimes, if I get out of order, my husband will tell me to “stay in my lane”. This is what we should do with God. We should stay in our lanes and let Him work. After that job is done, there will be another. For me, being a Christian is fun. To completely give God control is exciting because I never know what He will do next. I think the best part is being able to look back at my progress. This gives me motivation to continue on and give Him control over the next work to be done in my life.
Woman of God, don’t sweat your imperfections. God can’t change them until you move out of the way. He wants to do a work in you but you have to give it to Him. To cooperate with God, you must be able to know His voice. To know His voice, you must have an intimate relationship with Him. Psalm 119:105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” So continue to stay in His word and continue pray and fellowship with God. Allow His word to illuminate your path and give you spiritual progress.
