Trusting God in Your Assignment

Does the thought of doing what God has called you to do it strike you to the core with nervousness? 1 Thessalonians 5:24 says, “Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it.” This scripture gives me comfort in knowing that when God calls us to do something, He will do it. All we have to do is be obedient. There are numerous people in the bible that were called by God to do things that seemed absolutely impossible. But, God always made a way for the task to be done. The only thing that was required was for the called to say “Here I am send me” (Isaiah 6:8).

1 Thessalonians 5:24 tells us something else. Not only will God do what He has called us to do, He is faithful in doing it. He won’t give up until it is done. People will leave us when things get too hard or if their schedule doesn’t permit. But, God will be there until the very end.

When God gave my husband the idea for this website, I thought it was a great idea. I was excited to get started. On the other side of that excitement was fear. It was the kind of fear one faces before speaking in front of a crowd. I have never ministered to people other than through song. So, the only thing I could think of was to rely on God to help me. Everyday, when I sit down at the computer to write, I pray and ask God to speak through me.  It is the only way I know the right things will be said.  I dare not go at this on my own. If posting to this blog has taught me nothing else, it has taught me that without God, nothing can be done. We can try to do it on our own but every single time we will fail. It is only when we totally surrender ourselves to the Lord, that what we set out to accomplish will be

done.

If you have been afraid of the call that God has placed on your life, don’t be. When God gives the vision, He will make the provision. Remember the trust exercise when one person stands in front and trusts that the other person standing behind them will catch them when they fall backwards? Let’s live our lives trusting that God will catch us every time we fall…because He will.
