Going Boldly Before the Throne of God

Going Boldly Before the Throne of God
I have often heard people pray and try to bargain with God. They may say “Lord, if You do this than I’ll…”. We don’t have to bargain with God when we are need. God wants to be there for us through life’s ups and downs.
Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”  I think going boldly before God’s throne means we are going with full confidence and faith that He will answer our prayers. It is like we are going to God with expectancy. This scripture can be applied to our prayer lives in many ways.
The first way that it can be applied is when we are going to God for repentance. When we sin, there is usually shame that follows. Hebrews 4:15 says, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” When we go to God for forgiveness, we don’t have to be ashamed. God already knows that we have sinned. Although it is still necessary to confess our sins to God to receive forgiveness, He saw the sin when was happening
The next way that Hebrews 4:16 can be applied to our prayer life is when we are in need of something such as healing, financial miracles etc. During the Old Testament times a priest was needed as an intercessor when people wanted to go to God. Ephesians 2:18 tells us “for through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.” Because Jesus died for us, we no longer need someone else. Jesus also said in John 10:9 “I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” God’s promises are accessible through Jesus. He is the door.
I heard Joyce Meyer tell a story once about a woman that came through the prayer line and asked her if it would be ok if she asked God for two things. Of course it is ok. God wants to provide for us. He wants us to seek him in every area of our lives. God is standing by saying “I’m waiting for you to get out of the way so I can do it”
My sister, whether you need to be healed, are praying for a loved one, or need to repent, you can go boldly to God’s throne and seek Him for whatever it is you are in need of. You can go to Him as many times as you need to. God will never get tired of you.
