The Faithfulness of God

The other day, while talking to my mother on the phone, she shared something very inspirational with me. In the back yard of my parent’s home, there is a point where the grass grows really tall and becomes dense, almost like a wooded area. She noticed that a tulip grows in that very dense area. She said that no matter what is growing in the areas that surround this tulip, it manages to thrive and comes back every year. In the fall, when the leaves are falling from the trees and it begins to look dead, she said she can always look out onto the back yard, and see that lone tulip, standing tall and rendering it’s beauty in the midst of the chaos around it.

This made me think about how faithful God is to us. Psalm 36:5 says “Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds” In the midst of whatever life throws our way, we can depend on the Lord to be there for us no matter what is going on around us. Sometimes, we put our trust in people and get disappointed. We expect them to be there for us and when they aren’t, we allow it to affect our faith. We should always remember to put our trust in God. He will be there for us no matter what.
