Will You answer Part 2 of 2
When we choose to answer God’s call, I believe it has a domino effect on our lives. Going to one place in obedience may put us in a position to not only bless the lives of others but to be blessed as well. In Vashti’s case, not answering caused her to be banished. Fortunately for us, we serve a God of second chances. Even when we aren’t interested in answering Him, He is still interested in us. Jeremiah 3:14 says “Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord; for I am married to you…”. Such was the case with Jonah. Even though he ran at first and didn’t want to rise to the call, God had mercy on him. God delivered him out of that giant fish and gave him a second chance to answer to call on his life.
For many years, I didn’t want to answer the call that was on my life. I chose to sing secular music and live my life the way I wanted to live it. God never gave up on me. There are times today when I don’t feel I am capable of ministering to others through song, through fashion, or even with this blog. I look at where I came from and the lifestyle I lived before giving my life to the Lord and I think that maybe I am not good enough to do what I am doing today. When I begin to feel like this, I simply remember the words that conclude Esther 4:14 “…Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
My sister, remember that God knows your weaknesses. He knows everything about you. Don’t worry about where you’ve come from, or what you think you are capable of. When He calls, all you should be concerned with is answering. There is nothing that you can’t do without Him. Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
