Clinging to What is Good Part 2 of 2
After we have clung to the good, the bad is left behind. What do we do with it? Offensive words, bad attitudes, disappointments, these all can wound our spirits…if we let them. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast our cares on God. We cling to what is good, praise God for it and give Him the rest. Every hurtful word, every disappointment and everything that may cause us to be upset can be brought taken to God and left there with Him. When we give our issues to the Lord, we can find strength in Him to forgive those that hurt us. It’s just a prayer away.
Everyday, can be seen as a fresh start from God. Don’t allow the stress of day to day life wound the spirit. God cares for you and wants to know about everything that bothers you. Psalm 43:5 is a good scripture to read after a long hard day “Why are you cast down O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Ope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God”. So cling to what is good, and hope in God to heal the rest.
