A Mouth of Salt and Grace Part 3 of 3

A Mouth of Salt and Grace Part 3 of 3

…continued

God takes the things we say very seriously. In Matthew 12:36, Jesus says “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”. This scripture makes me want to watch what I say even more every time I read it. 1 Samuel 3:19 gives us an example of seeking God’s help in our speech and the result that follow. It says “So Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. ” The only reason why Samuel’s word didn’t fall to the ground was because the Lord was with him and didn’t allow them to. The only way we can really have a mouth of salt and grace is to seek God in everything we say.

Ladies, I know how hard it is to hold your tongue sometimes. No one said having a mouth of salt and grace was going to be easy. But we have to remember that we can’t have godly speech without God. The key word is godly. When we seek God’s help and walk in the spirit, we won’t fulfill the desires of our flesh (Galatians 5:16). We won’t say what our flesh feels, and we will have a mouth of salt and grace.
