Who Will Go? Part 2 of 3
…continued
Another excuse is that you’re not qualified or educated enough. Guess, what, when God called Moses, he too thought that he wasn’t qualified. In Exodus 3:11 he tells God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” God then tells Moses in verse 12, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” Moses even tells God that he can’t speak very well. God remedies that by telling him to get his brother Aaron to go with him to speak to the Pharaoh. Throughout the entire encounter that Moses has with God, God tell him one important thing, that He will be with Moses.
I believe one of the key reason for these excuses is self doubt. I find it ironic that the enemy will throw a fiery dart of self doubt at us to discourage us from answering Gods call. When, we can’t do anything on our own anyway. What a sneaky tactic! As we can see in the examples given, God never leaves Moses and Isaiah. God gives them the necessary tools to do what He calls them to do. We get so focused on our weakness that we forget to focus on the Lord. Philippians 1:6 says “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” It didn’t say “He who has begun a work in you, you shall complete it”…
