Hell is Real Part 2 of 3
According to Matthews 25:41, and Revelation 20:10, hell was originally designed for satan and his demons. But, hell will also punish the sin of those who reject Christ. As I listened to Mary K. Baxter’s recording, the descriptions of hell that were given matched those of the Bible to the letter. Among these, were descriptions of hearing the screams of those being tormented, and the fire that surrounded these lost souls. Matthew 13:50 describes this as “wailing and gnashing of teeth”. As she and Jesus stopped to talk to some of these souls, she saw worms crawling through them. Jesus told her they knew the worms were there and there was nothing they could do about it. This is described in Mark 9:48. Even though these souls were being burned, the worms were not affected by the continual fire.
Moreover, in some of the different Biblical translations, hell is referred to with the use of the word Gehenna. Gehenna was the site of a garbage dump during the time of Christ, their refuse was burned there. If you have encountered a garbage truck on a hot day, you know the stench is awful. I am sure Gehenna was much worse. During Mary K. Baxter’s testimony, she mentioned the terrible smell that she experienced while on her tour of hell with Jesus. Hence the vivid comparison…
