Keeping Yourselves From Idols

I saw this video on a blog that I follow. It really convicted my heart. As I commented to the young lady on the blog, it caused me to have a meeting with myself. 1 John 5:21 says “Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.” When the word idol is mentioned, images of little statues often come to mind. However, an idol can be anything. It can be your job, your house, even your spouse. We also have to ask ourselves, “Where are we spending the best hours of our day?” and “Where to we go for rest and enjoyment?” If we put something before God or feel as if we can’t do without that thing, it has become an idol.
