Leaving “Ms. Fix It” Behind

Leaving “Ms. Fix It” Behind

Back in April, I wrote a post titled “Ms. Fix It” . In this post, I talked about how asking God to fix a problem then going off to fix it ourselves can only make things worse. I often ask God to help me to live the life I talk about here on this blog, whether you readers see me or not. “Ms Fix It“, was one of those posts that ministered to me as I wrote it.

A few days ago, I asked God for something in a particular area of my life. Usually when I ask God for something, in this area, I ruin it by trying to make it happen myself (“Ms. Fix It” always ruins things :) ). This time, I told myself I was going to let go and let God deal with it. “What’s the point of asking Him if I’m just going to go and ruin it?” I said to myself. (Don’t act like you don’t talk to yourself :) ).  So, I let it go. At first, it was hard to not try to make it happen for myself. But, I resisted my fleshly urge to control things. I eventually forgot about the thing altogether. Then, the other day, God made it happen for me!!

It’s funny because, letting go and allowing God to do something after I’ve asked Him is not a new concept to me. I’ve even wrote a song about it. This was truly a personal victory for me. This has encouraged me. It has also let me know that I can have victory in other areas of my life as well. I have to simply leave “Ms. Fix It” behind.

Have you had any personal victories in your spiritual life? If so, what are they?
