Sabotaging The Harvest Part 2 of 3
Let’s not even talk about what happens when we call our friends up and invite them to the pity party by talking to them about it. Matthew 18:19 says “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”. Not only are we sabotaging our own harvest, we’re inviting our friends to help. It’s no wonder why we can’t get a break through!
Sometimes, we dig those seeds up and we don’t even know it. When we say things like “I can’t ever get things done right” or “I never have enough money”. When ever I say things like “can’t ever” or “never”, my husband responds with “and you won’t if you keep talking like that”. Conviction floods my heart and I wish I hadn’t used those words. One time, he brought it to my attention that I can be very negative at times. This caught me by surprise. I never considered myself to be negative. The Holy Spirit began to deal with me on my mouth and how I’ve used it to sabotage the things that I’ve asked God for. Whenever I get ready to mumble and complain about something, The Lord brings the children of Israel to my remembrance. While reading about their journey to the promised land, I get irritated with them. “UGH! Can’t they see that they are the reason why they aren’t at their destination yet?!” I say to myself. Then, I am hit with conviction because God is trying to tell me the same thing, “Can’t you see that you are the reason why you don’t have what you’ve asked Me for?”.
