Breaking Generational Curses Part 2 of 2

Breaking Generational Curses Part 2 of 2

If your family is struggling with generational curses, I have news for you today…they can be broken. Because Jesus died on the cross for us, He freed us from all curses. Galatians 3:13 says “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us(for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)”. When we choose to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are accepting everything that He brings. Jesus said in  John 10:10 that He came so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. An abundant life is not a life under a generational curse. Knowing that Jesus promises us life, we don’t have to live in defeat by accepting a generational curse.

One way to begin to break a generational curse is to proclaim the victory. We have power in our words. Just as Jesus spoke to the demons and cast them out, we too can speak freedom over our lives (see Matthew 16:19). Another way is to stand firm and believe that we are free. Galatians 5:1 says to stand fast in the liberty of Christ. So, no matter what the enemy may try to tell us, we can stand firm in the belief that our freedom from whatever has us bound is through Jesus Christ. Finally, we should walk in the spirit. Since we know that there are negative behaviors associated with generational curses, walking in the spirit will prevent that negative behavior (see Galatians 5:16).

No matter what you are dealing with today, you can over come it. Know that with God all things are possible. James 4:2 tells us that we don’t have because we don’t ask. This means freedom from generational curses are just a few words away. Begin by proclaiming victory over your life and the lives of your family. If we allow ourselves to continue to be deceived by the enemy, we risk passing those generational curses down to yet another generation.
