Time to Refresh Part 2 of 2
“I want to spend more time with God but I’m always so busy” Does that sound familiar? Romans 8:28 says “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” This tells me that when I fit into God’s plan rather than trying to fit Him in my plan, everything will workout for the good. I once heard Joyce Meyer say that if we don’t give our time to God, the devil will steal it. I find that when I give my time to the Lord, I find better ways to manage it. I get more done in that day and I even feel better physically. After I’ve spent time with the Lord, I realize how thirsty my soul was for fellowship with Him (Psalm 42:1,2).
We need God…period. That’s the bottom line. We can’t do anything without Him. Not even have a productive day. So, where to we start from here? Prayer. Ask God to forgive you for neglecting fellowship with Him. Then, ask Him to show you when the best time of day is for you to spend with Him. In Mark 6:31, Jesus said “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” Are you like the disciples running around so much that you don’t have time to be fed spiritually? Go aside with God, just you and Him and allow Him to refresh you. You’ll be glad you did.
