Availability over Ability Part 2 of 3
continued…
Matthew 25:25 tells us the real reason why the servant failed to wisely invest the money entrusted to him. It says “…And I was afraid…” More often than not, the enemy will cause us to compare ourselves with others and see how much they have. He will tell us that since we don’t have as much as those we are comparing ourselves to, what we are striving to do will fail. The results being we hold on to what we have and do nothing out of that fear of failure.
What we must realize is God doesn’t ask us to do what someone else does. The beginning of Isaiah 43:19 says “Behold, I will do a new thing…” God doesn’t do “left overs” and “repeats”. He has given us each a unique ability and call on our lives. Why would He call me to do what someone else is doing? That position is already filled. The rest of Isaiah 43:19 says “…Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” I could’ve jumped out of my chair when I read this part!
This tells me that even if it looks as if there is no way that I could possibly do what God is calling me to do, He will make the way possible. No road…He’ll make one. No water…He’s got that covered. All I have to do is simply make myself available to Him…
