Mod.s.t Fashions Look of The Week: Travel in Style

With February slowly coming to a close and March in view, many of us have travel on the brain. It can be a bit difficult to travel stylishly, comfortably and modestly. It can also be a bit difficult to travel light and be fashionable. But, it is totally doable.

Here are a few tips on how you can travel in style…

Know the climate and weather forecast- Technology today has enabled us to be able to see what the weather is like anywhere in the world. Before you pack anything, check the forecast for your destination.

Versatility is key- Choose pieces that are mix and match. This gives you more options in fewer pieces. This also helps to minimize bulk.

Transitioning Pieces- Not only will mix and match pieces help to minimize bulk, pieces that can easily be transitioned from day to night are important as well.

Comfy Shoes- As gorgeous and glamorous as high heels and stilettos can be, comfy shoes are a must. I always pack at least one pair of sneakers and a pair of easy slip on and off shoes. This is really helpful when maneuvering through airport security. (Shown below)

Outerwear- Depending on your destination, you may or may not need heavy duty outerwear. However, a light jacket and/or cardigan (shown below) is an important thing to have. A nice blazer can not only be used as something to keep you warm on a chilly airplane, it can help dress your look up when transitioning is needed.

Jeans- A pair of blue jeans are a great go -to travel piece. They don’t get wrinkled very easily, and they’re very versatile. I recommend a pair of wide leg jeans when riding for a long period of time is expected. (shown below)

Bags- A nice sized shoulder bag and a small clutch are great for day and evening travel. Crossbody bags are also great when walking and touring your favorite vacation destination. (Shown Below)

The look below features a pair of wide leg jeans with a versatile top and cardigan. A pair of comfy ballet flats and shoulder bag represents an ideal day time look. A pair of chic pumps and matching clutch represents an ideal evening transition. Coordinating jewelry (also versatile) finishes the look off.

I hope these quick tips will help you to modestly travel in style. When packing for your next vacation, remember to start in your closet first. The less you spend on what you’ll wear, the more you’ll have to spend on the vacation. Be sure to hope over to Long Distance Loving and check out this week’s “Fly Away” Friday’s Fancies. The ladies will be showing off their favorite travel destinations and the outfits they’d want to wear there.
