The Good News is More Than Words Part 2 of 2
Sometimes, we hear the words “preach the gospel” and we may become intimidated. I know I did until God showed me that preaching the gospel is more than standing on a pulpit and preaching to a sanctuary full of people. The word preach means to publish, proclaim or declare the good news. We can do these without being in a pulpit. Another word that may intimidate us is the word “ministry” or “minister”. These aren’t always done in a pulpit either. Our ministries may on our jobs, in our neighborhoods, or even at the salon. My husband uses technology to spread the good news of Jesus through the internet. In fact, this blog is another example of how ministry is not always done in a pulpit. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” This tells me that our lives become messages of the good news of Jesus Christ.
So today and every day, as you are on the job, as you go about running errands, and living your daily life, remember that your life is a message of the good news of Jesus Christ. Let’s not just preach with our mouths but with our lives as well. Let’s use the authority that Jesus gave us to heal the sick and cast out demons. Let’s be women of action and live the truth by letting our lights shine.
