Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 1/3 cups mashed overripe bananas

Nuts (optional)

What to do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in eggs and mashed bananas until well blended. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture; stir just to moisten. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.

Note: Try not to stir the mixture too much. It helps to fold it until it is just moist.

A touch of cinnamon can also be added.

This is a classic PB cookie recipe. I find that the brown sugar is what makes them moist and chewy. What do you think?
Lip Smacking Peanut Butter Cookies is a post from: Mrs. BliSs for WomantoAnother.com

You’ll need:

1 1/4 cups flour (sifted)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup butter or shortening (I think butter is better)

1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy PB for crunchy cookies)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 egg

Let’s make cookies!

Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder; set aside.

Cream shortening, peanut butter, and sugars; beat in vanilla and egg.

Stir in flour mixture, blending well.

Shape mixture into 3/4-inch balls; place on greased baking sheets.

Flatten each cookie with the tines of a fork; dip fork in flour periodically to keep it from sticking to the peanut butter cookie dough.

Bake peanut butter cookies at 375° for about 10 to 12 minutes.
